Location: Bristol/Kirkcudbright/Bovington

Our customer is one of the World’s leading producers of defence systems and equipment for ground, air and naval forces. Operating across five divisions; Central Division, Weapons & Ammunition, Electronic Solutions, Power Systems, Vehicle Systems International and Vehicle Systems Europe, they set the global standard for excellence in their field. Our customer provides support to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) Support Vehicle (SV) fleet and provides wider field support programmes in the United Kingdom.

Consequently we are looking for a motivated Field Support Representative that can work with little direction to ensure high quality service in the support to trials of Main Battle Tank (MBT) systems. The goal is to maximise the Authority’s confidence by producing results in a timely manner.

This key role delivers crucial support to our customer’s programmes in the form of repairs activity in the UK and abroad.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead all trials support tasks in external facilities including trial sites and ranges
  • Operate efficiently to conclude all on site diagnosis, repair, maintenance and test activities
  • Progress work to minimise the impact on test schedules
  • Accurately carry out fault diagnosis and strive to resolve issues
  • Produce frequent and analytical service reports
  • Operate vehicles in a safely manner and use field automation systems
  • Adhere to company’s given rules and regulations
  • Team up with colleagues and pass on important information
  • Discern customer needs and offer advice or recommendations
  • Formulate relationships of trust with customers
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by their line manager

  • Able to prepare and maintain service-related documentations.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a senior heavy tracked vehicle lead technician
  • Proven experience as a Field Service Representative
  • Familiarity with MBT diagnostics and electronic control systems
  • Demonstrable experience with UK Challenger 2 automotive systems
  • Able to conduct risk assessments
  • Suitable engineering certification/qualifications
  • IT literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite Word and proven Excel skills
  • Driving licence (inc H) essential
  • Valid passport as worldwide travel will be required for this role
  • Hold, or be able to acquire, SC security clearance.
