We’ve Got Your Six

Movember aims to improve well-being, promote mental health, and address issues such as deep-rooted stress, which may hold some relevance with Veterans navigating post-service life.

It is highly publicised and as we all know, ‘growing a Mo’ can raise money and awareness too, which is exactly the purpose of this men’s health awareness month throughout November.

A Veteran will know, when transitioning to civilian life there is often a need to face unique challenges including managing physical health and of course, mental health issues such as PTSD, anxiety and stress

Which is why we have an area on our website called Veteran Connection which offers links to access the best help and support you could possibly wish for; including organisations such as PTSD Resolution and Combat Stress.  These specialise in offering therapy and support to Veterans. They (like us) have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and they offer practical help 24-7.

Walking with the Wounded empowers Veterans by reigniting a sense of purpose and to lead independent lives whilst reintegrating into society. Meanwhile, RobustMind Mental Fitness is a leading provider in mental health first aid and mental health awareness.  It was set up by a Veteran for Veterans and you can watch our full interview here to find out more.

These services align so well with Movember, which emphasises the importance of mental health and well-being for men, particularly those facing trauma and stress from military experiences.

As an employer, by being aware and integrating mental health initiatives into your workplace culture, you can support your Veteran employees

Make a point of offering opportunities to access vital support networks such as those mentioned above, and above all, create an environment where Veterans feel supported, valued, and able to thrive both professionally and personally.

Your company culture could make a huge difference to someone.
