Every Remembrance weekend in November I plant bulbs for the next year in the garden. So on a cold drizzly November day in 2022, with the help of my trusty bulb planter, 90 different varieties went into the cold soil. Wild flower seeds were also scattered, blown across the garden in the breeze in the hope they take root and send up shoots in the spring.

Why did I do this? To inject some colour into the garden after the low winter sun has risen higher in the sky; to provide food for the bees and insects and to have, I suppose, a sense of achievement on a cold winter’s day rewarded with a hot mug of tea at the end.

There is a saying: ‘The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life’.

The same can be said with every business, which once was just a seed of an idea that was planted and grew into a successful, well-known company that now employs a variety of people.

For a bulb or a tiny wild flower seed in the soil to grow it needs nourishment from the soil, some (not too much) rain and when it pops up, some warmth from the sun.

For a seed of an idea to grow into a successful business it too needs nurturing, but in a different form: support, working long (long) hours to grow the original idea into a profitable business, commitment, resilience, financial investment and making the right connections to move the business forward.

Once these key areas have been established and profit is beginning to show, the next growth stage (much like a bulb or seed) is to blossom and bloom into a fully-operational business, earning respect and kudos from other industry leaders.

Identifying the right support network is crucial for success which is where choosing the right team around you is without doubt the most important next development step to take.

We understand how tricky it is to find the right person to join your business and putting your trust in someone else to find that solution is a huge decision and we are that support network.

We know:

#1 The logistics of growing your team can be a bit of a headache sometimes

#2 It can be time-consuming to write a job description, find ways to advertise for minimal expense and manage the huge flow of CVs and phone calls from applicants

#3 It can be almost impossible to find the time to sit and work through the myriad applications to find someone who meets your business needs.

A reduction in your time spent on recruiting means you can focus on running the business and scaling into new markets.

Additional support from a Recruitment Partner just like Pimento, is much the same as the additional nurturing the bees give to the flowers: pollinating and creating more seeds and more bulbs, resulting in more flowers (and more bees) and so the cycle continues.

I’ve realised I’ve likened Pimento to a bee and perhaps we might expand into the honey business at some stage down the line, who knows…

…but what I can tell you is that if you are at the stage right now where your business needs to grow, we have the worker bees to enable this to happen.
